Junior running back DeMyron Martin said he tweaked his hamstring at practice Wednesday, but he wasn't sure how it would affect him Saturday in the Conference USA opener against UT-El Paso.
SMU hopes not at all.
Martin rushed for his first 100-yard game of the season at TCU, only his second 100-yard game since he compiled four as a freshman. Martin had 19 carries and a touchdown against TCU. In SMU's previous three games, he totaled 94 yards and a TD on 25 carries.
"We didn't get a 'W' out of it, so I need to do more," Martin said. "I felt good about getting more chances to do some things."
