Orsini hired Doherty?

NEVER darken the doorway of this "coaching graveyard"??
Is that what you also said about SMU basketball before Orsini hired Doherty? C-ya @ Milos!
i dont think doherty was in the graveyard when we hired him. he took a year off before coaching Florida Atlantic. well... i guess some would consider that the graveyard ![]()
re: i dont think doherty was in the graveyard when we hired him. he took a year off
exactly, just like Steve Mariucci is taking time off and not in the graveyard C-ya @ Milos!
i dunno if i would call a year off a trip to the graveyard. i mean, mooch has been away for a few years now and is quite comfy in that chair on nfl network ![]()

who is saying that? I certainly have not in fact I am saying exactly the opposite Doherty took some time off and so is Mariucci both were fired from high profile jobs. both are still relatively young i mean, mooch has been away for a few years now well it is less than two years this is the start of his second season away he was fired from the Lions in late Nov 2005 not eactly what one would normally call "a few years" and is quite comfy in that chair on nfl network oh yeah and how do you know he would not be interested in coaching again when he is only 51-52 years old? C-ya @ Milos!
Agreed. But as I've said before, even funnier is how we dissect these unattainable coaches with, "I wouldn't be on Barnett's bandwagon. Terry Bowden couldn't recruit." Check Ponyfans in the days right before Doherty was hired. You would think by some of the comments he was on a par with an assistant coach at Trinity Valley CC.
First, I love coach D and think he is doing wonders. I hope and hope he is successful on the hilltop, but we will not know for a couple more years. So don't use coach D as an example yet.
[/quote] Exactly - don't use coach D as an example yet - he hasn't won anything here.
I wouldn't be surprise if he makes upper echelon Park Cities money. If Gerald Ford, Ray Hunt, etc. allows him a part interest in some of their deals, he could make CONSIDERABLY more than any mere mortal college coach could EVER hope to achieve. Don't think that doesn't happen either!
