Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueNot if STALLION wrote the articles.
Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueWe had to give away tickets when times were good -albeit at a 55,000 seat stadium. I thought that there were about 50,000 SMU alums in the Metroplex. There will be no good crowds of SMU supporters until Dallas identifies with SMU. Better minds than mine have tried to make that happen. Being competitive would help a lot and the small stadium helps too but there needs to be a lot more done to get the casual fan. The game day experience is great except for that few hours that the team actually plays. Games must be competitive with TV games and we just aren't there yet. Unfortunately,I see no reason for the casual fan to go yet.
Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueGRGB, are you female, 27, and blonde, because your posts sound just like my ex-gf.....[deleted], [deleted], [deleted], and you never know when to let something go.
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueAnother issues has been that SMU is the team that many in the local media have loved to hate. Now some of that may be softening of late. That would be nice. So many "home town" teams get homer coverage. That goes a long way to the community identifying with the local school.
Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueGive Phil Bennett much of the credit for bringing about that media attention. I've said for years that we need our head football and basketball coaches to be "cheerleaders" to some extent. An enthusiastic coach who thanks the team's fans for their support and makes them feel they played a part in a team's success...or in our case pleads with them to come out to support the team...can have an impact on boosting attendance and media interest. It's all part of the promotion of SMU athletics.
Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueHey CP, welcome to the 1000+ club.
![]() SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueLA_Mustang, I hardly EVER [deleted]. What the hell are you taling about.
Are you talking about STALLION? Because all I have said is that if he wishes to continue talking about SMU is such a negative way, then many of us would like him to get information from the SOURCE, rather than from pure conjecture.
Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueCharleston Pony,
Those are the type of things (Bennett chearleading and inroads into the DMNews) that have been actively being pursued by the athletic department. That is an EXAMPLE of what has changed that Stallion does not acknowledge.
Re: Just for GoRedGoBluePK, I never got a welcome into the 1000 club. Welcome me now, damnit!

Re: Just for GoRedGoBlueSorry, GRGB. I was just kidding around, but it does seem that most of your recent posts have been negative ones about Stallion. Let's quit attacking each other, let everyone speak their mind, and move on.
