Post game coach interview

Postby OR-See-Nee » Sat Sep 29, 2007 7:28 pm

On the Ticket, PB said:

--We didn't tackle well. We tackled poorly the whole game.

--UTEP is different with Sams in the game. They got us cracking our safety and caught us a man short.

--Play of the game is when SMU missed a sack with 7 seconds to go.

--Mapps did a good job. We did what we needed to do offensively.

--Our offensive played better than last week. Our problem was defensive tackling, plain and simple.

--There will be critics, they will be vocal. Team has to focus on Southern Miss. We need to get some things fixed defensively. We need to keep plugging. We get a week to change some things that aren't working.

--Will start planning for Southern Miss this Thursday and Sunday. First part of the week will be focused internally.

No...the play of the game is when because of you and the 15 yard penalty, EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE knew Price was going to onside kick but you. As a result you didn't have your hands team in.

the more frustrating play for me was when the Utep punter dropped the snap, picked it up and ran for an easy first down. How does that happen? unbelievable.

are you sure that wasn't designed? He had been putting the ball on his side before kicking it.

Come on. UTEP got a lucky win today. Sometimes it just works out that way.

Phil will have the team prepared for Southern Miss.

I wouldn't be surprised if we beat USM by 20.

Yes, we will ANNIHILATE them just like we did Tech oops, I mean Arkansas State oops, I mean TCU oops, I mean UTEP oops, well we did win the Mean Green game (BARELY). Southern Miss will be looking to stick it to us especially after getting TOTALLY embarrassed by Boise State on national TV this week!

That was a designed fake. He looked right, saw it wide open and took off.

I would have been pleasantly surprised had SMU automatically switched to spy the second QB whenever he was in the game, and expect him to carry the ball.
