I walked out just before we kicked the field goal. I KNEW that we had lost given the absolutely, INEXCUSABLE play of our defense! They didn't fail me as UTEP scored with little trouble to win the game.

I couldn't make it out today (like most people, apparently), but I agree completely. I was watching the game on Tivo tonight and as soon as I saw the FG I knew it was over. This program is no better off now than it was 20 years ago...it's dead.

I'll probably go to the last 3 home games because my 4 year old loves football games, but as soon as he wants to go, I'm gone. I don't see the point in buying season tickets next year either, unless there are some major changes (not just HC) made in the off season.

What a waste. Go Cowboys.

I think what everyone can look forward to now is the next hire at head coach, hoping it's a "Doherty-type" hire and big splash. Someone with experience that can right the ship around. Attendance is going to be pretty dismal from here on out, but if I can make it, I'll still come

What happened to my SMU?

Postby Mexmustang » Sun Sep 30, 2007 10:06 am

Have things changed so much?

The administration has been beating down the fraternities to the point they provide little in student leadership (school spirit). How many are left and how what percentage of students now join?

The athletic programs appear on life support.

The women out number the men.

Many real men don't consider SMU because they wan't to go to a school that actually wins in football--look at how many of our sons are now preferring TCU! TCU? They don't want to be like their dads hiding from the Monday morning water cooler!

Most former students just allow SMU Football to fade out of their lives. Most on this board, myself included, are apparently obsessive-compulsive or just masochistic.

BINGO-
Not only that we allow them to raise the prices to watch misery, pain and suffering.
