Hello Firephil: Nice classy quote. Why don't you put your real name on it.
I love how some hide behind their secret name and talk big. It's just rude and mean.

Go SMU
Thank you Coaches
Thank you players.

so you'd rather have Tip Eckert vs. Willis?

didn't say that-rather have Willis than Romo. But there are 21 other positions on the field. the 2005 team beat 3 bowl teams-The 2006 team beat the School of the Blind.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I feel horrible for Phil and the Kids for yesterday. I know we are all [deleted] Phil, and I really dont' think the first three or so years were fair. I do, however, believe that Phil is a good man, and a for the most part a good coach. I also believe that he has put his heart and sould into this job, which is all that I as an alumni could ask for. So, regardless of what happens moving forward, Thank you Phil.

PB is certainly a nice guy and I do wish him well but I do not feel bad for the man. He gets paid somewhere in the ballpark of half a million dollars per year to win football games. For whatever reasons, he has not been able to do that. Like any job, if you exhibit poor performance year after year, you will get let go.

No one is attacking the good person he is, just that he has not hacked it as a head football coach at SMU. I'd love to see Phil on the Blvd and in the stands, just don't want to see him on the sidelines.

I felt bad for PB's kid after he snapped the ball high on a FG attempt. You could tell he knew that he might have triggered the begining of the end for his dad.

Student athletes I can certainly feel for when it comes to their performance on the field.

This is the mindset that I just don't understand. Coming on a message board and proudly announcing that you are going to drop your support of a SCHOOL that I think you want to see do well. I'm not happy with where we are, so I've made that known to our administration. But I've also offered whatever I can do to help make it better. But I haven't proclaimed that I'm going to stop supporting the kids that represent the school that I cheer for.

I wish more people on this site would offer solutions than resolving themselves to the easy way out of just [deleted] about where we are.[/quote]

Yeah, that was really hard for me to watch. Sam seems like such a good kid and if you think about it, he's been money for us. You could tell he was heart broken.

Phil i believe can be a pretty good coach he just might not be cut out to be a head coach. He should stick to defensive coordinator where that is his only focus.

Yes. Maybe our defense would give up only 500 yards per game instead of 550 yards per game. That would be a SUBSTANTIAL improvement!

Perhaps Tony Dungy should be included in that exchange. By all accounts, he's up for sainthood.
