I think the old pony express is a good one to go off and stick with or stick with those jerseys and possibly a red helmet

You need to be more specific. Without the stripes, it looks like a bunch of ping pong balls out there on the field.

and the stripes need to be together not separated by intervening white like the ones in the 1990s which gave them a Mr. Peppermint appearance. In other words the early 1980s Jersey. BTW SMU's Mr. Peppermint Band Jersey. Gay or Not Gay? I'm not sure but its pretty damn close. The Blue Blazers they wore at halftime look much better.

SMU officially licensed beer pong balls, get it right.

Thank you. The helmet stripes were unique to SMU alone.

Traditional, but look horrible since all they could find was cheap-o ones. I'd shelf them at least until some real jackets could be found.
Also, I've always argued for LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS or keep jackets on all the time. Vest = short sleeves = bad!!!

No more gay than wearing a seersucker suit in the summer....give the band a break...its too hot to be wearing long sleeves all the time! I think they look sharp---so much better than the traditional band and thanks for not wearing big goofy band hats with feather plumes...

I agree. I'm a big fan of the current uniforms.
I'll take it a step further and say that I think our current uniforms are among the best looking in all of college fb. I don't see what the big deal is with the 80s uniforms, they aren't any better than what we have now.
If you REALLY want to look 80s (ok, late 70s) then maybe we can take a cue from the U of Wyoming. Reminds me of my parents' kitchen.
