The off week gives the coaching staff time to make adjustments and add new components to the defense/offense. That may or may not include personnel changes. At least Bennett is trying to correct the most glaring problem with this team (defense). Personally, I don't care if Bennett uses a walk-on 4th string place killer at middle linebacker if it works. I hope he is most successful in this endeavor.

JUCO SIGNING DATE-First week in December
HIGH SCHOOL SIGNING DATE-First week in February
I don't see any relief on this roster. Going to be worse at LB next year.

I saw this coming. We really loaded up with a lot of nothin' at this position over the last few years. High School All-District types.

Not a coach here but wonder if McKinney would make a good middle linebacker with some coaching...I know he is used lots on kickoffs and seems like he gets a thrill out of hitting the returner and seems to always be there in the action. I know he is valuable blocker on certain running plays...May be pictured as future tight end as a starter...Just a thot...Go Mustangs!!!

its getting late in his career but again you look at the success TCU has had with Ortiz, Blake and Jerry Hughes converting big tall, reasonably fast RB/FBs to DE and you wonder why hasn't McKinney been tried at DE. I'm not sure he would be able to cover in passing situations at LB-and these days you really have to be mobile

glad bennett is trying to make some adjustments. i say try some new guys in there to see if they can help out. or we should go to a 3-4 more often and slide cory muse to linebacker so he can murder some people. cory muse is lights out tackling

Of course you did.
What do you know about the development of our backup LBs? What have you seen in your visits to practice?
My vote for middle linebacker next year: ANDREW McKINNEY. Big, fast and just crazy enough to play the position.
