Telep is Scouts head basketball evaluator. I'm not sure you could have a more glowing review of Otis' game.

'He's an undersized monster. The guy is a beast. He's got a big motor. Having said that, he's no small forward. This is going to be a major energy giver, rebounder and dirty work guy. He's that kid who goes up and gets the tip dunk to swing momentum.'

i like the sound of this guy. really need a beast down low. Havent had one in years. you guys all wanted to blame the failure of the hopkins teams to get to postseason on coaching and BHop. The problem was in the paint, no glasseaters. Every team needs at least one glasseater.

I agree that we didn't have a great rebounder. Sad thing is P-Simp should have dominated the boards and post with his length and athletic ability but was always more concerned with shooting 18 ft jumpers.

He always was, even in high school and on the AAU level. Kid was a smooth athlete & had talent, but was passive. Unfortunately, that meant his skill set wasn't fully utilized day-in & day-out.

According to some evaluator's that I've spoken with, Otis would be a Top 30 player in his class, if he was 3-4 inches taller. He's a 6-5 PF and thats the limitation. Honestly, if he's strong and can use his body to shied, that's no big deal in CUSA

I agree that in CUSA I do not think that will be much of a problem. From what I have read it seems like he might compare favorably for a player that graduated from UH last season, Jamar Thorpe. Thorpe was 6-6 225lbs that transfered from JUCO to play at UH. Played the 4 and 5 for the Coogs and averaged 9pts 5reb in about 20 min per game as a Junior. As a Senior averaged 11pts and 6 boards. Also was a very good defensive player.

Sounds more like Devon Pearson...Smallish forward who is tough and will get you rebounds...Remember, Devon led the team in rebounding and is listed around 6'6" or 6'7"...At one point he was almost averaging a double-double...Man, we are gonna miss that guy...

Pearson was no beast - a nice player but not that much of an inside force.
