Worst case scenario,
Bush has to give up his Hypeman Trophy.
USC gives up one scholarship in women’s rowing and the men's tennis team will be placed on 6 month probation.
Flathead Valley Community College men's soccer program will receive the death penalty.

That should teach a BSC school to cheat!

depends on who made the payments - USC or an agent- and the knowledge of USC representatives and whether he was a representative of the USC Athletic Department under NCAA Rules.

I think you would be hard pressed to find that USC was completely ignorant in the whole thing. Either way, I doubt they'll get more than a slap on the wrist.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

NCAA has rules on monitoring of compliance such as cars driven and residences. If they knowingly overlooked these things the issue of lack of institutional control is raised.

If true, then Flathead Valley Community College men's soccer program is definitely going down.

Don't you think that penalty is just a bit harsh, after all were talking a small private school. The rowing team may never recover. I don't even want think about the tennis team. I'm sure when it's announced half the room will faint.

Quick question. If Bush received a mere quarter million dollars and if the NCAA actually required USC to forfeit its wins where Bush participated, does this tarnish the Beloved Longhorn's National Championship?

Going back to Stallion's post above, does it make a differenct to the NCAA if the benefit is provided by an agent or an alum (or other non-agent, non-university person)? If so, why does it make a difference?
