This is pretty wierd. There was no explanation made. If he wasn't embalmed they won't find much there. I assume that there must be some sort of question involving an inheritance. Otherwise, why disturb the Gipper. Knut Rockne is probably spinning in his grave, unless he gets dug up as well.

Maybe Notre Dame is planning to create a clone based off his DNA and then have Charlie Weis give some sort of motivational speech. Basically, "Win one for the Gipper" Deux.
