OK, so the only game all year that I have not watched on CSTV or all-access was UNT...and we won!!
so, I really want to watch the game Saturday, but now I'm thinking...maybe I'm cursed?? i get very supersticious with my teams...should i just go out to the bars and check the scores casually when i come home at 2am??

That is what I'm doing. NTSU was the only game that I missed this season. I was at every other game except Arkansas State and I watched that on tv. I'm only superstitious when it comes to sports.
"He was quoting the Bible, Revelations. 'Behold the pale horse.' The man who 'sat on him was Death... and Hell followed with him.'"
"You tell 'em I'm coming... and hell's coming with me!"

yeah, i bought the ASU all access just to watch on the computer...worst $7.99 i've ever spent.
i'm a phillies fan too and noticed that once i stopped caring, they kept winning...all the way to the NL East pennant. Of course, once I was all excited about the playoffs, they got swept by the rockies.
will a team i love ever win a championship????

well, UNT was the only game I attended in person and we won (admittedly calculated on my part). I had planned on meeting a USM buddy in Hattieburg for this game but have elected in the 11th hour to stay home and do some CE credits. I guess if we lose, it will be my fault for not making the trip to Hattiesburg.

All cursed pony fans. Please Please watch Saturday.
That way we lose and our magic number drops to 2. New Coach on the Hilltop when loses equals 7.
Just send 'da money.

Is this what our fan base has been reduced to? Have we lost that much faith in our coach and his system? Diamond M75 has always struck me as a long-time, true fan. Are we really this disenchanted with PB and his coaching prowess? I am.
I only hope that MrMustang1968 is correct and that PB will resign at the end of the season, no matter the won-loss record. My worst nightmare is that we pull off a USM victory, followed by a win against Tulane, and then three more improbable wins which gets us into a bowl. Pressure is then put on Steve O to keep the status quo since the "ultimate" goal was met.
The best scenario for the Mustangs is if PB declares his intention to resign at the end of the season for "personal reasons". This allows us to proceed with a coaching search for his replacement all the while making PB and SMU look to be the good guys. The new coach can begin recruiting, or at least making the necessary contacts in the high school coaching ranks. The Mustangs rally around their outgoing coach and win enough games to reach a bowl. They carry him off the field at the SuperDome and we get a new coach to lead us into the future. Even though it is only 6:30 in the evening, that is the dream I am having as I sit here at my desk.

While I am all up for positive changes around here, I cannot and will never root for us to lose, or take pride in us losing just so heads will roll. The players deserve better. Let the season take its own course and root like hell for a win.

Agreed. The best thing that could happen for this program is for this team to win 9 consecutive games to finish this season. Of course, if that was to happen, we'd still be looking for a new coach because others would take notice and figure Bennett is a coaching genius to accomplish such a feat.

Watch the game, but have an emergency six pack at your side. Of course there is the theory that we employ with my mom. She is forbidden from turning on the Redskins game at any time. Every time she turns the channel just to see what the score is, something bad happens to the Redskins. It has been time proven over the years. She can't even walk into a room when the game is on. So, test yourself, tune in for the openning kickoff. If we score first, keep watching, but if USM starts kicking our butts right from the openning kickoff, then turn it off, drink your six pack and watch re-runs of Monk, then turn back to the game a half hour later, and see if something good happened while the game was off and if something bad happens while the game is on. If both those things turn out to be happening, then its obviously you and you should not watch the 2nd half under any cirucmstances.

Redskins are one of the single most miserable sports organizations on earth. You owe me 2500 for ruining my parlay last year!
