todd dodge... on that note, what about trying to lure dodge away from UNT, taking all of his recruits, and paying his buyout?

edit: justin would fit well in his offense, and it would give his son riley a year or two to learn under justin or possibly play WR.

I'd be willing to make a run at Dodge, if for no other reasons than to further pi$$ off the Mean Green "Conspiracy Theorists" & force them to bust their budget by paying the going rate for D1 HC!

Stallion wrote:By performance in the last few years it just might be Oscar Giles (15 Commitments all from National Ranked Players in 3 Years) former SMU assistant. SMU's recruiting has dropped off too since he went first to UH then to UT. Traditionally guys like former OU Head Coach John Blake was highly thought of. Former Baylor Bear Trooper Taylor has moved around and used to be at A&M and is considered one of the Top National Recruiters. Former Nebraska Assistant Turner Gill is another good recruiter now at Buffalo.

Others considered ace recruiters in the Texas area would be:

1) Brent Venables OU
2) Cale Gundy OU
3) Ken Rucker UT
4) Bruce Chambers is getting a lot of big names at UT.
5) Mac McWhorter UT

Rivals tracks the Coach who recruited each prospect so its interesting to follow. A lot of the names have been picked over as many UT Coaches have gone on to new head jobs. Mike Stoops left for Arizona. Where is Jon Blake now-at Nebraska?

Is it Oscar Giles or is it the fact he is recruiting for UT?

Oscar Giles was the best recruiter at SMU, at UH and at UT. Remember when gets commitments for UT for National Top 100s he is outrecruiting the entire Country for these kids not just Baylor, Tech and Rice. I'd say Giles has proven himself to be an outstanding recruiter. He's also outrecruited the rest of the UT staff-so that tells you something

Making accurate throws and reads becomes a little difficult when youre running for your life on every down. Also having no running game makes it easier for the defense to cover up your receivers. Trust me this offensive system with the delayed handoffs is complete gargage and you'll see the difference next year.

Is the offensive line going to protect him "next year"? Why could they not this year?

Our talent level on offense dictates that the QB will always be running for his life, and Willis showed a much better ability to be productive running for his life his freshman year then he has in his sophomore year. He's had a let-down this season, face it.

3 offensive lineman graduate next year. The "Unfamous Guy" right now is the biggest "wait till next Year and I promise" guy on this board. We've seen that doesn't always work out after Cavan, Dement and Tubbs left. He has now made promises that the defense would be much better and lead us to bowl glory despite losing about 7 at least part time starters and the offensive line would be better without 3 (and 5 contributors)starters. I see both areas as potential disaster zones next year. As I asked before who will be our defensive starters and offensive line starters next year? Just would love to know who the hell is going to start at LB that is going to the lead this team to Bowl gloryMy feeling is that while it can't get much worse we are looking at a lengthy rebuilding period in both cited areas. I'm calling an alarm right now warning of big trouble spots at LB and OLM which must be addressed by JUCO recruiting or we will suffer next year. Go ahead try to piece together a starting set of LBs and an offensive line-the exercise will demonstrate glaring weaknesses.
