"said he's coming to Kentucky for Midnight Madness and staying over for the football game the following day against LSU."

Man what a tough act to follow, midnight madness then staying and seeing Kentucky beat LSU in a great atmosphere.....lucky for us he will get to see us take on Tulane.

Should be very crazy in Ford this Saturday. Very similar recruiting conditions..........

Man you would have to be one hell of a recruiter to pull that off.
Still confused on if we have a ship to give.....

He did it last year too, was it Katuka that also considered Kentucky? I don't remember where the dude signed, but we were in the mix with Kentucky, that much i remember

Yea, I think its very much in question whether they offer or not. That said, Kentucky has been striking out on bigs under Gillespie. Lots of other verbals, including '09 & '10, but few are difference maker bigs

Will be interesting to watch.
But who decides when you take a visit? Coaches or Recruits? Guessing there are more variables to it than that.
I would think you would save the Midnight Madness visits for players you are very interested in. That being said, just about any home kentucky game would be a big sell.

Kentucky had close to 30 kids at Midnight Madness from '08- '10. It's a spectacle, but not indicative of true interest.

yeah that's what I read-I wasn't sure if it really was an official visit. This kid has not played a season Inside since he grew 5 inches or whatever it is. Sounds like a gamble that an SMU not a Kentucky would make.

Hello, Wichita State fan here.

According to Scout, Garrett has moved Kentucky down to "medium" interest and has WSU and SMU as "high" interest. So from what I can tell it's basically down to us, unless Kentucky should suddenly extend a scholarship offer.

I have looked at our rosters and here is the breakdown as it relates to Stutz:

WSU:
Currently the only player on our roster or committed who is over 6'8" (and he's a lean-bodied SF), is 7'0" FR Ehimen Orukpe (Nigeria). We're still waiting on him to get here. Should be on campus by the end of the fall semester (we hope) and is expected to play right away. The other two "big men" we have are 6'7" and 6'6" and prototypical PF-types. One will be a SR and the other a SO next season.

SMU:
Next year's big men will look like this (please correct me if I'm wrong).
- 7'1" SR C, Bamba Fall
- 7'1" SO C, Tomasz Kwiatkowski
- 6'9" SO PF, Papa Dia

On first glance, it looks like he'll have more competition for minutes at SMU than WSU. But you never know what will tip the scales in the mind of a teenager. He's made two unofficial visits to WSU, leaving him open for an official visit if he wants. I just hope he makes a decision fairly soon. The Shockers really need a big man in this recruiting class.

We played a twin tower line-up frequently last year. More than one 7'er can get minutes at a time depending on the opposing team. 8)
Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!!

Yes. I believe he is forecasting their class levels at the start of the fall season 2008-2009 year.

Per Rivals, Stutz is supposed to be in Dallas THIS WEEKEND! I would imagine you will know for sure if you go to the boulevard before the game. I'm sure it won't be hard to identify him!

Doherty should drag Koncak out from whatever rock he is hiding under and introduce him to the kid.

I was thinking that some bikini clad babes would do the trick. Afterall the high is forecast to be in the 80's in the middle of October. Now the weather next week is another matter as it is supposed to drop to highs in the 60's. Fortunately that's NEXT week not this weekend!
