Idea: Boulevard Chili Cook-Off - Nov. 17?

I have an idea (I've shared this idea with a few of you on the Boulevard previously)

We have a Chili Cook-Off on the Boulevard for the last game of the season. Each tent can submit an entry and we can get a panel to judge the entries (I am thinking the judges would be people like Coach D, Steve-O, etc). Then maybe the winner is announced on the field between quarters or something like that.

I am more than happy to work with a couple of people at the University to try and make this happen.

Thoughts?

And we need a beer tasting contest. Beer will cleanse the palate between chilis and the chili will cleanse the palate between beers.

We just reserved our tent today, I am in 100%. The unfortunate part for the rest of y'all is that my Blue Norther Chili will be head and shoulders above the rest of the competition!

My better half is from East Texas, and claims that East Texans know more about chili than anyone alive (tends to spark rather lively debates), and she says beans are ingredient No. 1 on any good chili.

No disrespect to your wife, P4L but BEANS are a 'no-no' in any Texas-style chili. East Texas? Not exactly the heart of chili country in Texas. Get to the Hill Country, south Texas or the Big Bend region for the best 'red'. I've been a judge at a few chili contests over the years and, trust me, anytime an entrant included BEANS they were automatically eliminated by the rest of the judges and me.
