I didn't remember they were playing so I didn't crusie by CSTV or VS, anyone notice what kind of crowd they had? In fact I was wtaching the Rutgers game and the Red Sox/Indians instead. I wonder what the ratings were? Last time TCU had a weeknight game on CSTV or Vs. they estimated only 19,000 households were watching NATIONWIDE.

I checked the Froggie Website about the attendence. Announced 25K, but they were all speculating about 18-20K which for a Thursday night game is not too bad. A far cry from the 45,000 they were expecting by joining the MWC.

Keep in mind we sucked worse than this in '04 and bounced back...so this isn't the first down year we've had recently. That gives me some consolation.

Again, who expected this? Seriously, most TCU fans expected about the same attendance and that's what we've seen in the MWC. Utah brought about the same number of folks as our CUSA opponents outside of SMU. Last night was absolutely embarassing however...worst home crowd i can remember in the last 7-8 years.

Funny how a few losses can effect attendance. Have you seen Ford lately?
Just send 'da money.

True enough...I'm becoming more and more convinced that neither of us (TCU or SMU) will ever be able to pull in 40K plus with any level of consistency. I though for a while that it might be possible without being in a BCS conference but we've had a decade of sustained success now and I just don't see it happening. Our student and alumni bases are simply too small to make it happen.

TCU has been great of late, but had some tough times in the past. There are cycles (except when like SMU, you happen to shoot yourself in the foot repeatedly for 20 years), and things change. Kentucky and South Carolina are up now. Auburn and Tennessee are down. Kansas is up, Texas is down. If you can limit the bad years so that things cycle more often in your favor.

we have no room to talk about TCU's attendance. We wish we could draw as well on Saturdays as they do on Thursdays.
Hey, I enjoy beating the frogs as much as anyone, but when we aren't playing them, I want TCU to be successful. Like it or not, they are our "sister" school and we are more like TCU than anyone else we play. When they are successful, it provides motivation for SMU to do the same. I hope our administration is feeling envious of TCU's decade of success while we continue to flounder.
Check the fundraising that has gone on at the two schools during that time frame. I'd be surprised if TCU's success in football isn't translating into more involved and generous alumni. We all have pride and egos.

I hate TCU more than any team in any sport. It gives me pleasure to see their fans cry when they lose. If I had something like that (a TCU fan crying) on tape, I would run it in a loop in my house. Seriously I don't understand why anybody would give two craps about TCU's welfare and I do not understand rooting for them at all for any reason. My dream world is for them to have 15 straight losing seasons against the likes of San Diego St. and Wyoming, so I could watch all of their fans cry, and I would laugh.
Edit: reading this two hours later, I regret the drunken nature of this post, but not the content. Reedfrawg and HFVictory are alright, I just dislike the frog fandom in general.
