Certainly believable,

CUSA is terrible this year....of course in true Mustang spirit we can't take advantage of it and somehow ended up being the worst of the worst.

that's like saying the dolphins would lose to LSU on a consistent basis... Not saying that once in a blue moon it might happen.

living in the footprint of the Southern Conference, I would agree it's teams are very close to CUSA's teams. I think SMU would be a "middle of the pack" team in the Southern Conference. We probably would lose to App State, Wofford, Furman and would be very competitive with Elon, Georgia Southern and the Citadel. I think we could probably handle Western Carolina and Tenn-Chatanooga.

That's how far we have fallen. Should have seen this coming when year after year our recruiting classes were filled with guys who were under 6 ft and 170 lbs or less. Those guys are fine if they have 4.2-4.3 speed the Southern Conference is full of those guys and they run the same 4.5-4.6 our guys do. I think we have a slight size advantage on the line, but very slight.

What's been happening is these schools are getting guys who sign with SEC and ACC schools and don't get playing time as true FR or even as RS FR. They get disgruntled and transfer to schools near home where they don't have to sit out a year.
