Of course, $1.5 Mil per year puts you in the top 25% of the profession. For that money, really, why not just triple Skip Holtz's salary and bring him here?

Blog you are way off-or using old numbers. There are hardly any schools in the BCS with total compensation below 1.3 Million. That's a clear majority

Go to www.coacheshotseat.com and you can see exactly what each coach is making.

Not sure I can trust a site that shows Mike Stoops as head coach at SMU.

WE ARE WHO WE... SMU.
Well, last time we were looking for a head coach we got Matt Doherty- a really "big name", and that is the only head coaching hire Orsini has made. Plus, you are an RA? That means you are probably pretty young, or the oldest creepiest RA ever, so you have only been around for 3 new coaches. Phil Bennett, Jimmy Tubbs, and Matt Doherty. If you were around when Cavan or Dement was hired then you are too damn old to be an RA, you creepy dude.

from Terry Bowden's 'flak':
I’m sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your email. With Terry’s speaking/broadcasting/travel schedule so incredibly hectic – it makes my schedule almost as hectic.
It is difficult to comment on positions that are not open. Terry, especially, never wants to see a fellow coach lose his job. We were in Dallas a few weeks ago for the “Red River Rivalryâ€

OK, we all know (hasn't he announced to the world?) that Terry is available to coach somewhere next year.
Hey, if Clemson loses tomorrow at Maryland, Clemson's season could unravel and his brother Tommy might be available at season's end. He did a pretty good job at Tulane, remember?
This "off season" is shaping up as an exciting one. Starts with Carr leaving Michigan. He could get fired, or I could see him winning out, beating OSU, winning the Rose Bowl...and retiring from coaching.
If SC beats Tennessee Saturday, Fulmer could get canned. This just might be the year both Paterno and Bobby Bowden decide enough is enough.
Closer to home (for most of you), Nutt and Fran could be goners. Baylor will undoubtedly be searching for a new head coach.
Bottom line in all of this? If Orsini is going to pull the trigger...do it ASAP. If Terry Bowden is your guy, get the deal done before half the teams in Division I are looking for a new coach!!!
