SMU Football may be awful, but...

at least Texas isn't burning to a blackened crisp and doesn't smell like a chimney. It's hot, windy and dry here. California = the new hell.

Kind of like the Navy v SMU game a few years ago at Ford.

Seriously, though...be safe and I hope you come thru it all unscathed.

I live right by the beach in a safe area (for now), but this is affecting A LOT of people, over 250k evacuated, that's a lot of people. I know people that have lost their homes. I work downtown and it was a ghost town today, eery...bad situation...

I sent Trojan a PM on this, but are San Clemente, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Ladera Ranch, Misson Viejo, Laguna Hills & Woods affected at this time?

A friend of mine and his family live over in Foothill near Whiting Ranch (I believe I recall the name right...that wilderness hiking area up above Saddleback Church where the guy got eaten by a mountain lion a few years ago). They are waiting for evac orders, or rather, there were yesterday...haven't spoken to them today.

There's only the one fire in OC. It's the Santiago fire in Silverado canyon. It crossed the 241 Toll Road towards Portola Springs and is making its way down to Northwood (Irvine). Only 30% contained so far and the believed cause is arson. I think only parts of Lake Forest, Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills had to evacuate so far. Maybe Irvine will be next?
