Elliott commits to SMU

Former East player Christine Elliott has orally committed to Southern Methodist for a basketball scholarship.

Elliott, a center, currently is at South and waiting official notification from the Kansas State High School Activities Association that she will be eligible for the upcoming season.

When she left East after 11 games last season and moved to Texas, she was averaging 18.2 points.

Good news for the women's team! I saw her play this summer - a 6'3 post player that can clog up the middle. Congrats!

This is a FANTASTIC signing. Elliott will be the player who replaces Janielle Dodds in the paint, and in the box score. She's a total stud.

The more I hear about her, the better she sounds. Dodds is going to be very tough to replace, obviously, but it sounds like Coach Rompola has really raised the level of incoming the incoming talent.
