Here are his measurables per Rivals:

Ht: 6-foot-0 (Event)
Wt: 295 lbs
Forty: 5.1 secs
Bench max: 400 pounds
Bench reps: 30
Squat max: 605 pounds
Vertical: 22 inches
GPA: 3.8
ACT: 19
Class: 2008 (HS - December Grad)

Rated 2 stars, 5.1 by Rivals. Speed and strength look good. Obviously his height is what lowers his rating, but I don't believe that Bonds was much taller and he turned out all right. Plus it is not a bad size for a nose tackle whose primary responsibility is to tie up the center and guard allowing the linebackers to make the play. Our biggest problem is always getting ANY type of defensive lineman to commit to us and then stay eligible. Usually we are converting 220 lb. linebackers to DL who grow to 240 lbs. by their senior year. At least this guy is already hitting 300 lb and still has 5.1 speed per Rivals! Plus his GPA indicates that he will put the time in on his class work to stay eligible. Other factor are the limited pool of potential recruits that we are now looking at given that half this year's class is already committed and the fact that probably the hardest position to recruit is DL and I would bet that we don't have many decent options left this year at this position that are much better.

From what I've been told, he's closer to 5-10 and those weight and strength numbers are very generous.

Dark Horse,

Nike camp showed the following:

Height: 5-foot-11.5
Weight: 295 pounds

I'll let you argue it out with Stallion about the accuracy of Rival's and Nike's measurement systems.

Additionally, he was rated as "one of the better defensive linemen at the Columbia NIKE Camp", according to the Rival's article.

Rivals rates him as the 25th best player in the state of Oklahoma. Doesn't sound like such a bad prospect to me, HOW ABOUT YOU?????

some people have never been recruited, and don't understand how the game works

PB knows talent when he sees it... whether he is a D1 coach is another thing... he has ALWAYS been a great recruiter at big schools... if this was his way of letting the kid down easy then so be it... i suggest everyone track this kid to see where he ends up

Who cares at this point. I know PB will end up in the unemployment line after this week's game and I don't need to track anything to know that much.
