I gotta agree with Stallion on this one. Going for it was the right call, but there should have been NO CHANCE that we did not make in on 3 tries. One call should have at least gone to Willis on a bootleg or keeper play.

A) if you go for it, go for it! Put the QB under center and sneak it on third. If unsuccessful, run a hurry up and sneak it again.
B) It is very hard to say an outcome, given a specific set of circumstances, will be the same, given an entirely different set of circumstances. If the mindset is that they need 6, not just 3, then you play defense differently - no? Yes. All teams are capable of going to the house on us at any time, so force them into needing the TD. I submit that there is a high probability that, had we gone up 10 (with 2pt), we would have found a way to "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory."
C) We should have kicked on 4th and 2 earlier in the quarter to make it a 2 possession game. That would have changed everything and this conversation would be completely different.
D) This is simply a strategy conversation and we can disagree.
E) lets capitalize on this opportunity to make a great hire and get moving forward again. What is getting lost in this argument is how much potential we showed yesterday - the future should be bright

Thomas Morestead had a greater effect on yesterday's game than just about any player on either team. Tulsa started their drives at what their own 17 yard line(after the last one started at the 1 it may have been less). SMU started their drives well upfield because of field position and turnovers. 3 kicks inside the 20. It was a Classic field position game and Morestead is a real weapon.
