At least CUSA isn't rated lower than three AA conferences.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

You know these numbers are kinda arbitrary but you know that Colonial Conference ain't bad. I watched Delware kick Navy all around the Field on the way to 59 points. I'm really not sure SMU could beat many of these teams like UMASS, New Hampshire, Deleware etc. Right now we would ranked 10th in the Colonial and next to last in the Southern Conference.

60 Massachusetts AA = 71.40 7 1 56.96( 133) 0 1 | 0 1 | 79.34 32 | 64.77 91
72 Delaware AA = 69.46 7 1 52.01( 152) 0 0 | 0 0 | 71.84 60 | 66.53 79
85 Richmond AA = 66.60 6 2 53.52( 146) 0 0 | 0 0 | 66.43 82 | 65.98 82
89 New Hampshire AA = 65.04 6 2 55.20( 140) 0 0 | 0 0 | 67.48 77 | 61.97 102
90 James Madison AA = 64.74 6 2 52.67( 150) 0 0 | 0 0 | 65.94 86 | 62.79 100
96 Villanova AA = 63.21 5 3 57.69( 130) 0 0 | 0 0 | 65.93 87 | 59.86 109

I don't understand how it helps our situation to be pointing out this stuff 24x7. Especially now when we're trying to attract a coach. Please explain.

Stallion will never, ever stop. SMU could go undefeated and win a national championship and Stallion would [deleted] that SMU could never get two in a row like USC. If we got 2 in a row, he would [deleted] that the caliber of teams these days is not as good as in the past. That just seems to be his nature. I'm not satisfied with SMU football, but I think we're finally headed in the right direction under Orsini. SMU will never be heading in the right direction to Stallion.

Grrrrr. Grrrrrr. Must be awful to be so miserable.

"What's Worse than Being Rated Behind a Division 1-AA Con.?"

Spending your life looking for ways to badmouth a program you claim to support?

well I've pointed out that both CUSA and SMU have failed to attract quality recruits-I've pointed it out every year for several years. I think this is some pretty strong evidence that many on here are misjudging the talent of both SMU and CUSA. This ain't a mandatory Cheerleader site. Not badmouth or pessimism - its consistent correctness. On a positive side it could signal a smooth transition into the Magnolia Conference if schools like SMU, Tulane and Rice want to continue to compete on their own terms.

I am not taking any sides in this ongoing insult-fest, but after years of wasted time on this board, I really don't think you are right about that. Stallions expectations really arent that high at all I dont think, just seems to me he want barriers removed and the chips to fall where they may. And to each his own anyway.

It may not help, but it doesn't hurt to vent frustration here either--we do not want a coach who reads and relies on message boards as part of their decision-making process, same as recruits.

Well, I'm not saying I love the MWC or anything, but for everyone who rips TCU for leaving CUSA to join the MWC, please check the distance between CUSA and MWC. I realize it's one year and that ultimately we're all non-BCS conferences but here's the primary reason I think we went to the MWC. The tv situation isn't great but our home attendance is basically the same and the MWC offers better competition (that is the perception if not the reality).

If TCU and SMU switched conferences the conferences would probably switch places also.

First, the CAA has some very good football programs for 1-AA. It essentially cherry picked the Atlantic 10 football program away from the A-10. With schools like Delaware, U Mass, New Hampshire, William & Mary, James Madison, and Villanova, they have some old time schools with solid football pedigrees. Delaware and William and Mary have produced great football over the years (where did Lou Holtz coach first, William and Mary). Who ran the single wing for 40 years, Delaware. James Madison won the 1-AA championship three years ago. Villanova is loaded as is U Mass which hung about 60 on William and Mary last weekend. U Mass and Delaware have mastered the transfer rules allowing immediate eligibility for 1-A transfers. And they have rather lax academic admission standards. JMU has lax admission standards for freshman. For that reason, many of these teams have 3 and 4 star talent that transferred from 1-A schools for many reasons.
