Brad BeanThanks to all the Stang Fans that have supported Brad, especially the Coaching Staff.
It has been a very difficult time. Brad fought the odds to play Football again. However, his back was injured again in the Nevada game, this time injuring the disc. As much as he loves the game, and his team, he cannot play Football again. I just wanted to express my Thanks to all of the Pony Fans, who have been supportive to Brad. Go Stangs! Charlotte Bean (Brad's Mom)
Re: Brad BeanWe need more Ponies with Brad's determination and drive. Good luck to him. Classy post Momma Bean. Hope you stay a Pony Fan!

Re: Brad BeanMrs. Bean:
I was forced out of SMU football in much the same manner as Brad. I did not have his talent, but do feel I had his desire and love for the game. This will be a difficult time for him for a while adjusting to the life style change, but please let him never forget the thousands of fans he has had as a player and will continue to have as a Mustang Alum. He is now and will be forever a Mustang. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Brad BeanTell him to study hard and go to class so that one day he will be PK's boss. Seriously good luck to Brad. He posted here back in the summer and seemed like a very nice guy who was totally devoted to SMU. He is going to a good school and will be well prepared for his future endeavors.
Re: Brad BeanMrs. Bean:
I had the pleasure of interviewing Brad for that story, and he was as thoughtful and engaging as any athlete I've ever interviewed. It's a shame the way things worked out, but what came through loud and clear to me was the admiration his teammates and coaches have for how hard he worked to recover from his accident. I hope his recovery from the disc injury is as successful as his first recovery. Best of luck to Brad and the rest of your family. PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Re: Brad BeanIt's hard to put proper words to paper when commenting on Brads comeback and ensuing injury.I can only hope the best in life for Brad and that he should know that he has more admirers of his inner strenght and tenacity than he'll ever know.
Re: Brad BeanVery well put, fbdad.
I'll always be a fan of my Ponies, and I'll always be an admirer of Brad Bean. That kid has a lot of heart. "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
... "Hit it."
Re: Brad BeanMrs. Bean,
Your son is a class act and will always be an SMU Mustang, on or off the field. We couldn't couldn't be prouder of him, and we wish him success in the classroom, and in the world beyond. Support the Commitment! We're all SMU Mustangs fans- we should all be committed!
Re: Brad BeanTo Brad's Mom,
Sorry to hear about Brad's injury and retirement from Smu football. I have always heard good things about Brad and I am sure with his determination he will go on to great success in his life after football. You may not remember, but our group sat right in front of you at last year's OK State game in Stillwater. You seem like a very nice lady and a devoted SMU Fan. Hope to see you and Brad cheering on the Mustangs for many years to come. Tell Brad we appreciate all his hard work and effort in trying to rebuild the SMU Football Program! <img src="http://people.smu.edu/sailing/flag.gif" alt=" - " /> "THE SMU BLVD - - NO PLACE ELSE" (retired)
Re: Brad BeanMrs. Bean,
What a great example "of never say die" your son Brad has provided. This trait will serve him well in life. We need Brad and yourself, to stick with SMU. Once a Stang....alway's a Stang! Thanks Brad, and good luck!
Re: Brad BeanBrad Bean deserves the athletic equivalent of the Purple Heart, with all the attendant respect that a combat veteran should received for sacrificing his body in the line of duty. Like any D.A.V., he deserves a life pass to park his car in the reserved parking section of the school stadium. We salute Brad and offer his service as model for others on the team. he is still a vital part of the school and its alumni.

Re: Brad BeanGreat ideas, SIA. Brad was undersized to start with, to be playing DT, yet there he was, working his tail off on the field, in the weightroom - how nice would it be if everyone had the heart of Brad Bean.
Hope his recovery is quick, complete and pain-free. Go PONIES!
Re: Brad BeanMrs. Bean:
Please add me to the list of PonyFans who wish nothing but the best for Brad and your family. He has the heart of a champion, and we're lucky to include the Bean family among the ranks of PonyFans.
Re: Brad BeanI'll take 22 Brad Beans every week and see how we stack up. I'd be willing to bet we would be VERY successful. Good luck to Brad and his family.
Re: Brad BeanTo the Bean family: As a 'non-alum' SMU fan, please let me add my thanks to all of you and especially Brad for choosing SMU as the school where he chose to further his education and athletic career. I am sorry to hear of his second injury. Study hard, Brad! You are already a 'success' in my eyes!
Brad has a heart of gold and I will always consider him a Mustang!!! :thumbupcool: I second Sam I Am's motion for lifetime reserved parking at Ford Stadium! GO BRAD! GO MUSTANGS!
