Could there be a bigger difference in talent between Navy and Notre Dame. There is not one player on Navy who even got a letter from Notre Dame. Not saying he is right for SMU, but homeboy can coach some football. I will invite him drinking with myself, Dennis Erickson and Terry Bowden

He appears to be a great coach, however, I doubt that he would announce that he was quitting Navy mid-season to come coach for us.

If we don't get him his team will probably crush us again next year as we renew our series with them-

even with their season going as is, would that be a game where it would be appropriate to rush the field?

Is it ever not appropriate to rush the field? Even better, getting someone out there with a ND helmet during the game would be LEGENDARY. Maybe enter mid play and make a tackle?

I'm so happy for those kids. I'm even happier for Roger Staubach. The last time Navy beat the Irish was his Heisman Trophy Season in 1963!

Same year that SMU beat Navy, 32-28.

Fantastic that Navy finally beat the Irish after all these years. That's why the game is played!
I hand it to Charlie Weis, however. It was a classy move to have his players stand with the Navy players after the game while their band played Navy's victory song. (Not sure if that was Anchors Away or what as I wasn't listening at the time.) He has an agreement with the service academies to do this to honor the armed forces after the game is over. Very classy move!

Did Texas Tech do that after the Houston Bowl a few years ago?
