The above link gives many reasons not to give up the faith. If we can average almost 25K so far with our winless team, think of the possibilities when we actually scratch out a win here and there.
I know that for the Fresno game there will be a couple thousand private school students in the audience (as my wife teaches for a Dallas private school and helped distribute tickets).
I think our marketing folks really have stepped up this year and I applaud them for their efforts!

To be fair, those numbers are somewhat inflated because of the OSU fans who packed Ford Stadium - but even that has to be credited to the marketing department, which worked overtime to sell tickets north of the Red River.

I was surprised to read about the positive efforts made by the SMU marketing program. The 21,000 attendance for the UTEP game was a minor achievement given our record. There is no telling what they could achieve if we ever had a good team.

Yeah, I hope they get all those tent stake, and campfire holes in the new turf from all those Scouts repaired real soon for the Boise St. game
Meanwhile, I think the D on Copeland may be ever
so slowly changing to a C. New insider marketing people seem to be doing real well. See yesterday's DMN Business section.
May the forth be with us.

And when you factor in UTEP's record entering the game, I'd say that 21,000 is a major accomplishment!

It looks like the current marketing team is taking up where Russ Potts left off. Just get butts in the seats and I don't care how you do it. Giveaways, promotions, whatever! Keep up the great work guys (and gals)!

If TCU doesn't tank, we should have a good crowd for that game, then we might need to only average 7500 for Fresno, Boise and Rice.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Just curious, what were the attendance numbers for the individual games?

Yes, it's truly refreshing and encouraging to see the business-like approach taken by Woody Norris and his staff. For those of you who have never talked to or visited with Woody, I strongly encourage you to do so. From my viewpoint, things are being done very differently on the Hilltop than they have been for many years. If we can start winning, it will only get better. There is no disputing that we're getting significantly more coverage in the DMN than in years past - again, without a winning product on the field. 21,000 at UTEP is pretty good all things considered. Keep up the great work.
