I think his name was mentioned somewhere in another article, but there isn't much being said about him. Anyone have any good info on his departure from Syracuse? Based off his Wikipedia profile he seems like a strong candidate.

Would not make my top five. Had a ok run at Syracuse and was replaced by Greg Robinson and now is a position coach in the NFL. His last few years at Syracuse were a disaster. He was never able to compete consistently in the Big East and the Big East was pathetic, he had access to east coast talent, and had little to no admission standards to deal with. Does not seem like a good fit.

If you want a Cowboys assistant, put Tony Sparano on the list. Former Division II coach. Well known that he would be the OC at the New Orleans Saints if Bill Parcells weren't an a-hole.

Perhaps I'm missing something. He had ONE losing season at Syracuse. 9 bowls between 1991 and 2004, 6 of which were wins. Finished with a ranked team 7 times in his tenure (of all which was in the Big East).

^^Pretty nifty site that's easy to navigate and get info about coaches and teams.

Glad to see Yahoo Sports say Terry Bowden, Glen Mason, Gary Barnett, and Larry Coker will all be considered.

New article at Rival's MustangManiac.com speculates that Navy's Paul Johnson is the perfect fit for the job. "Johnson has 22 kids from Texas on his current Navy roster, so he knows the local geography. He also has recruited nationally at Navy, which SMU needs to embrace more."

I think we have covered that territory pretty thoroughly in other threads devoted to Nutt.

All have been deleted. That's why we should keep our Nutt's in out pants.

And, uh, yeah - I went there so let's get this thread back on track.

I don't like the Pasqualoni idea.... I don't know why, but I just don't.
