Look What I Found!

A videotape made in 1992/1993 titled "Winners & Champions". Has highlights from post-DP games including the 'Miracle on Mockingbird' and the revenge game against UH! :whistling:

Along those same lines, just got an announcement through the Mustang Club that The Heritage Hall Committee is going to start showing classic SMU game films (both football and basketball) on SMU Channel 7. Evidently Charter Cable in the Park Cities carries Channel 7.
The first game to be shown will be the 1983 Cotton Bowl game between SMU and Pitt. "SMU won the game 7-3 and ended up being voted the #2 team in the country. Each showing will have an introduction of the game, the game, and an interview with two players who participated in the game. The two players interviewed for this game are Lance McIlhenny and Bobby Leach. Their comments about the game and the 1982 season are very interesting."
Over the next few months they will be showing many classic football and basketball games.
"If some of you never thought you would hear the magical voice of Kern Tips describe a Doak Walker run again -- you will. If you always wanted to see Jim Krebs lead the Ponies against Kansas and Wilt Chamberlain in 1957 -- you will. If you had always wanted to see the touchdown pass to All American Bobby Wilson in 1935 that put SMU in the Rose Bowl -- you will. If you would like to see the "Miracle Man"(Bobby Leach) stun Tech in Lubbock just one more time -- you will."
No schedule was included in the announcement, but you alumns in the Park Cities need to check on this and set up some game watching parties for your church mouse cousins who don't live in the Park Cities.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

PK, that is fantastic news.
Maybe SMU will eventually broadcast classic game films via the Internet. I would really enjoy that since I live far away from the Park Cities.
SMU classic games highlights might motivate a few young sports fans or older fans from the glory days to attend a game at Ford or Moody.

PK: Awesome! Thanks for the 'heads up'! I'll get my friends in Dallas to 'roll tape' for me when those are broadcast on Channel 7 in the Park Cities! :thumbupcool:

Maybe the A. Dept. could offer those videos on tape or DVD for $24.99 a copy for all of us that don't live in the Park Cities area?

I have my 1989 N.D. vs SMU (1st year aft DP) when ND was #1, I could add to the tape.
