Actually for Willis, an option offense would not be a bad thing. He has speed, elusiveness and we have a three backs who can carry the ball.

Yea we all know we have the type of O-lines to hammer the ball-be real-we have to be creative with our offense be it a triple option or the spread. And if anyone has watched Johnson's offense it comes at you in many different ways on every play. Remember it gave PB fits in his very first game[and Johnson's too, at Navy] Jonson doesn't throw much because it is very hard to get a really top notch passing QB to go there or Air Force or Army!

The worst thing about running the option here would be wasting the talent we have at WR. But I guess right now we have a lot of talent at RB and TE that we aren't using much either.

Not to worry-Johnson is highly unlikely to come here. He loves Navy and Annapolis[who wouldn't-if you've been there] and is well paid. But if by chance that happened I guarantee he would find a way to throw the ball quite a bit with our talent at wr and qb-plus our running back situation isn't the greatest heading into next year atleast as far as depth goes. Martin looks done and is injury prone. That leaves it pretty much all on Mapps-who has been under-appreciated under PB. And he has some talent but an every down back-I doubt it.

Sounds like O has his act together.

That's where you would be wrong. Pops867-5309 said it's a done deal and we have a new coach.

Because Osini knows. He knew when he was hired who his man was going to be.

Hey POPS....Believe it or not....Darth agrees with you! Since nothing and Darth means nothing has leaked, looks to Darth that Steve-O has his man and the committee will meet oh say fifteen minutes before the anoucement of the coach.

(LORD help me I am agreeing with Pappy)

Whatever. One guy pays for that stuff and then brings it over here where fans will actually read it and talk about it.

Johnson strikes me as a non-candidate, anyway. Can't see Steve-O hiring an option offense guy, even though I'm sure their paths have crossed somewhere along the line.

Wasn't Steve-O an assistant AD at the Naval Academy? Did he and Johnson overlap?

Either way, don't see it happening here.

Yes. Johnson was OC at Navy in 1995 and 1996. Orsini was there.

Paul Johnson majored in PE and has a masters in Health and PE. Would no doubt get a PE major reborn at SMU. I am now firmly in his camp. My camp affiliation changes daily.
