Wilson's Son...

Post by SpiderJohn »

If any of you loyal B&W fans recall the tune "Baby S*%t," it's with great pride that I can take direct credit for being the subject of such a tune. Anyhow, I'm now 28 years old and am very much looking forward to actually watching & participating in my 1st B&W experience.

Funny Story - I was joined by my folks on a football recruiting trip to Midwestern State University my Sr. year in High school during which the Head Coach of the team & another member of the school administration found out that my Dad was "Wilson" from B&W. They totally hit it off and during my exit interview, the coach said "Wilson, I was prepared to offer you a partial athletic scholarship as our funds our running low. BUT, after meeting your Dad in person and knowing that I could get the son of the guy who got my wife-to-be on his stage 15 years ago and wore her [deleted] out, I'm gonna offer you a full ride." I was actually more nervous because I wasn't sure if he really liked my Dad or if he just wanted me on the team to run my [deleted] off in payback for old times. Luckily, the latter didn't totally pan out even though I oftened wondered if it was just my weight issue (obviously hereditary) that caused me to be the last person always running. I think it was more my smart-ass mouth(also hereditary).

I would love to hear some B&W stories from all of you who got to witness, participate, & sometimes suffer through my Dad's show.

I look forward to seeing all of you at Poor David's in February...

I lived there-worked across the alley at the Waterhole but damn I'm just too old to remember details other than it was a helluva lot of fun. "Old Man Lucas...."

You forgot the Meet Market, which Wesley Pool (a heavy drinking Pike and the son of the former mayor Joe Pool) owned. A friend of mine bartended there and had some wild stories about some of the parties that were held there "After Hours"!
