Essentially Zero Sacks
SMU got credit for a 1 yard sack-I thought they had zero. But if want to point a finger at a key stat (other than the usual that moron Bennett lost the game) there it is. The pass-rush was no factor at all today. Superman the Flying Wylinda didn't help either-might as well just interfere with the kid cause we just can't stop him. I actually thought Dilliard had 3 TDs today but I guess it was two. 13 catches for 128 yards. At least 5 times the SMU DB in his pocket and he just goes up and gets it. He doesn't seem to make many plays in open field but he is one of the greatest leapers I have ever seen.

I would like to know why some of our freshman linebackers that have completed their redshirt year haven't played. For instance, scholarship players Patrick Strodtman (FR-RS), Taylor Bon (FR-RS) and Pete Fleps (FR-RS) are linebackers that have not been given a chance to play from what I can tell. Addtionally, Brett Johnson (Jr-0L), Jason Jackson (FR-RS), Ryan Moczygemba (FR-RS), and John Nwisienyi (FR-RS) appear to be walk-ons that should be at least given a chance especially given the lack of results that we are getting from our "starters".

So here you go again ragging on the Defense that you claim in other posts it was not their fault we lost because they were so depleted????????
Make up your mind!!!!

DE Yenga (backup playing due to Muse's injury-about 3 games of experience-220 pounds-should be redshirt)
DT Handy (playing out of position at 250 pount DT-Leonard-academics)
DT Berry (back up playing in place of Elizee -injured and missed much of the game)Backed up by two 3rd string guys with zero experience)
DE Smart (backup playing due to Johnson injury or Handy move-should be redshirt-physically overmatched all year-emergency player)
LB Wilton McCray-Starter
LB Bonilla playing out of position-moved due Hurst injury-walkon-marginal D-1A player)
LB Tony Hawkins(backup who lost starting position to a walkon-barely made the field in recent weeks)
CB Brandon Jones(backup with some experience-playing due to Lindley injury)
S McCann (playing out of position due to Hudman injury)
S Tyler Jones (2 games of experience-playing due to Dennis injury)
CB Devin Lowery (WR playing out of position-2 games experience this year playing only because of multiple DB injuries)
Yeah I know a little about Football-probably seen more in a good weekend than you have in your life. That's why I'm making the point which apparently flew right over your head. You can sit on your [deleted] at home and take cheap shots all you want but there are not many Coaches that could do much with that situation out today. Yeah they lost-get over it. Your are taking cheap shots while apparently ignoring what was really happening.

I love how you can type without saying a thing. Post something anything but "Coach just lost the game" for the 9th time this season and I may respond. The problem with guys like you is you have nothing remarkable or intelligent to comment on so you strike out at that moron Bennett or Stallion because you think its gives your opinion credibility. Look at your handle FIREPHIL-simply designed to draw attention you and your one trick Pony opinion. We look forward to the day you make an inteligent or remarkable point that can stand on its own.

Let's be fair to the defensive line...not only were freshmen playing but 2nd deep freshmen were playing. So much of the problem was linebackers not staying home and seeing the quarterback roam at will on running plays probably designed for the quarterback....Quarterback runs killed us most of the nite...and this was probably when we were trying to get sacks opening the defensive and having linebackers out of position. We all know that a new coach has a lot of work to do with most of our team but some talent to work with. Talk doesn't diminish my excitement for our future at SMU...Go Mustangs
