Does SMU have a single player on its 22 Man Starting Roster who has demonstrated that he should be even considered for First Team or Second Team All Conference USA? That should answer your question. Maybe Emmanuel Sanders might get SOME 2nd Team consideration. Poytner maybe 2nd Team but to really compare OLM you almost have to check game tapes-I don't pretend to focus on individuals in the OLM but I have commented several weeks in which it appears that SMU's OLM has improved especially in pass blocking. Otherwise, there is not a single player. And yes Rice had more talent on the field yesterday especially with 12 defensive contributors and 11 projective starters or players who started this season out with injury or other cause.

How did Rice let us score 42 points and take a 15 opoint lead into the fourth quater? Protecting a 15 point 4th quarter lead is a function of execution. Figure a way to run out the clock and not commit crucial penalties or even score once and the game is in the win column despite the injuries.

Why do you not double Dillard after he has torched you like he did last year? He might have still beaten us, but my gosh try something different. Willis going out of bounds reminded me of sledge not going out of bounds, lack of game awareness - that comes from good coaching.

Billy Joe wrote:I lost confidence in the coaches long ago. The winless season a few years ago did it for me. When the game is on the line, don't put your money on Bennett and Co. But really, what do SMU fans expect. You get out of a program what you put into it. SMU has not stood behind the athletic program in decades. There has not been a commitment to winning. Things of late seem to be changing and its pathetic football seasons like the one we are watching that make it obvious changes need to be made with coaching and with recruiting policies. Let's see what Orsini comes up with in a coach. Another unproven coach hire means the coaching fraterity does not believe changes are as forthcoming as Orsini leads us to believe.

blah, blah, blah... tell us something we DON'T know.
