Used to walk past those buildings every day, when I would park over by the Sorority park, because I was kept getting parking tickets...I think that was when DPS first got their 4-Wheelers and their ticketing machines...

I had a finance professor named Patton my sophmore year in 1974 that claimed that SMU was 5 to 6 deaths away from having one of the highest endowments in the country. Looks like is starting to come true!

Professor Patton was every bit the character General Patton was, who btw he claimed to be related to.
You remember Patton's Law?

That title doesn't count if the money you're donating (just guessing) is designated for the Bookmobile. Are you talking about an actualy gift to the university?
As far as I know, the "mother of all University gifts" remains the $156 million T. Boone Pickens threw at Oklahoma State Vocational School.
SMU! SMU! SMU!

One this is for sure, if there is money in the trough, the faculty will be all over the administrators to start spending it on them which means more hiring, more curriculum and hopefully more options for transfer students and athletes.

Who could forget it. I was going to bring it up, but was curious if anyone else would mention it first. The ladies in the class weren't too happy about it because he successfully proved that they had hit their economic (i.e. sexual attractiveness) max by the time they hit the age of 25, while men were just starting to take off!
Do you remember his discussion about his purchase of the Jaguar?

I could be wrong about this, but I seem to remember reading that T. Boone had a daughter going to SMU. I wonder....

Isn't capitalism wonderful
If only these wacky teachers (profs) figured it out. The golden egg that keeps it going.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Don't know that he would have a kid at SMU. Perhaps a grandchild or great grandchild. Boone is in his 80's and on his 3rd or 4th wife. He was a star basketball player at Amarilo High (a Sandie like me) and then went to A$M on a basketball scholarship. He later transferred to OK State.

Who didn't have a daughter who went to SMU is a better question.

Build it in the football player parking lot across from Dedman Country Club and Workout Center - might as well make it convenient.

Here is the video of the presentation:

I also noticed that there is a video of an October 29th presentation where Ed Cox gave another $5 million to the Cox school of business in the form of a challenge grant, with $1 million having already been matched.
