All these injuries have to be a result of something. I think it has to be poor conditioning which is discouraging because I thought Vic would improve the conditioning of the team. Obviously all of them aren't a result of that because sometimes injuries just happen, but this number is ludicrous.

Right I know-that's why I listed all those guys. It flew over the head of a lot of bitchin' SMU fans yesterday who wondered why we couldn't stop Rice.

I dont think any one was wondering why we couldnt stop Rice. We all know we have a horrible defense, so NOT stopping them was incertainly inevtiable.

I guess you just have poor reading comprehension, because I do not see anything that supports your comment.

yeah, but still, its Rice. I just hope Bennett is not getting out of control with this discipline thing and costing us games.

OK how many points would we expect to score this week if Willis, Martin, Sanders, Poynter, Lebo, Peveto, Enright, Givens, Chase were injured or unavailiable this week. I will guarantee you that FIREPHIL would blame Phil Bennett for the one point loss in OT and tell you what great talent we have. And then say something stupid like you can't blame a loss to Rice on the Model.

Poor conditioning or players simply not wanting to play because of the lack of insentive for the rest of the year?

Hold up...we can't just say they're not really injured. I'm sure the athletic trainers are not part of some conspiracy with these injured players...you know what I mean? It's not like they're pretending to be injured and the trainers can't tell that they're pretending :)

Some of the injured are freshmen who probably haven't had full conditioning. The other small fact is that injuries happen in football. It could be because of poor conditioning or it could be because we are undersized and players are being asked to do more than their bodies can handle. We also are not real deep, so players are playing nicked up and then getting hurt because there is no one to step in their place. It could be a combination of all of the above.

Kennemer seperated his shoulder in the first half vs. UH. He came back and played in the second half after getting some meds. He woke up in a lot of pain on Monday morning and was then diagnosed with the seperation. He was held out of practice and this weeks game. My understandg is that he will be back this week.

do you ever notice how teams/players seem to push through injuries when you are winning . . . or is it that they win because they are pushing through injuries, not sitting out. not questioning if these guys are REALLY injured, just know pain hurts a little less after a win.
Sports, and all that implies.

If by your statement, you meant to say, if whatever players were on the field, gave the team a chance to win, and a coaching mistake cost us a victory, then I bet that Firephil, myself and many others would blame PB.

I am glad you have finally seen things as they are...

When did I say you can't assign any blame to "the model" (By the way, I hope she's blonde)? Twisting my words again, Stallion? My point about the game was that our guys, no matter how untalented you may think they are, got ahead 14 points in the 4th. And the team's management didnt do their job. At some point, you would think they can figure out how to take a situation and squeeze ONE DARN WIN out of it. And week in and out they can't.

Regardless, whatever --> It is clear that we have a problem that is much deeper than coaching, but it is just plain sickening to watch them give these away every week. And as for blaming the players themselves....don't. They may not be the biggest or the strongest or the most talented, but can you say they don't fight? Stallion, you pointed out yesterday how many people were out just from the D, and even went so far as to say you never would have expected us to win had you known that. BUT we should have won. We were in a position to win and we were coached into losing.

I guess based on our undermanned team that Stallion would say it is pointless to even show up, because we will lose every time.

I am sure USC, Michigan and countless other schools would have loved to deploy this line of thinking this year....
