SMUshouldbebowling wrote:AGAIN . . . if they are fast enough, sure, move a DE to LB . . . but do you really think Charlie can cover a back out of the backfield?? even at 225? even if he were to loose 55 lbs!!! it is amazing how many players stay at the same position they were recruited at as well . . . probably over 90%! you are talking about a very few players who make any transition to a new position in college. I have been around this game a long time, seen people try and make the transition, played at a high level, don't question my knowledge of this game or SMU football. . . . I don't care who you think you are. You are quickly becoming part of the problem...

Have you done your research, if not please do so. Charlie playing in the middle having to cover what back. MLB stops the run fool. 3rd downs, change the package? You have been at SMU, that don't count! Look at the BCS school. Jimmy Johnson was a master at it as well as many others. That is what happens when you have competition at every position, it makes players better or bitter.

you are telling me Demon Hurst did not have to drop back into coverage . . . i guess team don't ever throw the ball on 1st and 2nd down do they, that would just be crazy!!! You know as well as i do the days of a runstopping only MLB are gone. unless you can hide him with great speed all around . . we do not have that luxury.

I love your fire for this team and the fact that you care so much about the boys, but sometimes your posts can be misguided... look, all in all this ain't about us, it is about these kids playing there buts off and us supporting them the best we know how...fool (come on man, grow up)

Everybody throws the ball on first and second downs. Are they throwing it to RB's? Hell no! MLB read is the QB, coverage is in the middle (TE's). With the right conditioning and weight loss Charlie can do that in CUSA. Maybe not against Jeremy Shockey? C'mon Every team has a run stopping MLB but us. One of the biggest reasons we are 1-9 is Reggie Carrington and Rock Dennis. We suck up the middle of the field. Bring me some more nonsense. I care about playing real football. It is not rocket science. You line your 11 up against my 11. If we can kick your [deleted] we will win. Do not get confused with the X's and O's. Reggie and Rock really hurt this season. And stop recruiting JUCO's who cannot make an immediate impact on the team, wasted scholarship.

Charlie is a senior with a separated shoulder. He will not be covering anyone in CUSA now or in the future.

of course the play may not be designed for RB's but that leads itself to a whole new problem, you have to cover the WR's but I guess once Justin and Mapps are at safety with Columbus and Sanders at corner the opposing QB will have to check it down with no body open . . . then Charlie makes the tackle for a 2 yard loss and every one is happy! . . . you are exhausting . . .

"No, I make sense and you are an idiot. But I should have know, someone from SMU talking football without money!"

it is great that you have to "make sense" with name calling, great way to prove your point!!

What does money have to do with this at all! it is unbelievable how ignorant you really are... you throw around the fact that you did not play here, yet you support us (great), the fact that you played pro ball (great), and that you know more than anybody . . . if you are so supperior why bother with us?? does your son play for SMU? if so i hope his attitude is better than yours, he is obviously smarter . . .

He is smarter than I. Money years was the only time we ever won in the modern football era. Get up to date DUDE! Once again, I am probably ignorant, but you don't have to be smart to understand the game. It is a game. What is your excuse for not knowing? I won't call you ignorant, I will let you pick the name. I am trying to help some of you converse better about football at this University. Some have jumped on the bandwagon and some continue to fight it. You don't know how dirty your house is until someone else walks in and has to clean it. Post quickly, I am getting bored!

see I thought you were trying to say that since I went to SMU I had money and could not talk about football correctly because of it . . . I really think people misundertand you alot because of the way you try and express your emotions . . . I am sorry I am not as smart as you when it comes to the game, or the players, or life. and I hope to "converse better" in the future.

so he is undersized and playing out of position and got hurt......that NEVER happens at SMU.

The Lineman look like linebackers, the linebackers look like safeties, and the DBs look like punters....but slower
