I heard that SMU is hiring ALL THREE BOWDENS to coach! That is why this obvious insider named this thread 'BOWDEN BOWDEN BOWDEN'! He's sending us a message! Open your eyes! This will be our triple splash hire! Imagine the recruiting! Make it happen Big O! :roll:

35 and 1/3.......... I know, it's already been posted. Just so excited. Bowden means the dark ages at SMU are over. Means I can go to a party and say yes, my team is SMU, where a small private college and we just kicked the ever living [deleted] out your state college biatch. GO STANGS! How can you not get excited by that!!!!!!

I've given in to optimism too many times to not be very cynical about anything involving SMU football. Hopefully you'll not have to learn through pain as we have.

I was never optimistic about Bennett. I liked Bennett the person but felt he was in way over his head. He lacked what every coach who has come to SMU since the death penalty has lacked.....STAR POWER. He lacked the power to fix the great magnitude of the mess at SMU. BOWDEN will bring us back from the grave. And I don't mean just get us to a bowl. I'm talking about in time getting us to a BCS Bowl game. AND THAT's NOT A FANTASY. IT'S VERY POSSIBLE. BOWDEN HAS ALL THE TOOLS. So sorry if I don't share your cynicism. It's time to be excited.

I know, you're right, I will calm down. But when the source is yahoo sports (versus a blog site) and they say Terry is interested in SMU and not the other way around I get a little excited.

By the way, it took his brother Tommy, in case anyone forgot, 2 years and Tulane was 12-0 only to get screwed by the BCS (which helped lead to the rule changes on BCS Bowls).
