Postby mustangbill67 » Tue Nov 13, 2007 7:17 pm

I believe tomorrow is signing day. I wonder how many we wil sign and if we will lose anybody because of our 0-2 start.

you don't lose committed recruits over an 0-2 start. You lose fans and attendance pretty quickly, but not recruits. The impact on recruiting will come next fall if we post an ugly record this season. If we go something like 7-23 it won't be pretty. At this point, its hard to believe we will win 10 games thats for sure.

How many scholarships do we have to offer next year? Any of the current players on partial?

Huh?

That is like saying we will lose recruits, if we are down by two or more points during any quarter during the season

I know we might look like a high school team, but we don't play quarters we play halves. :)

Well if you are a recruit that is still on the fence and you see that SMU starts off its season by playing poorly and losing at home to two very low level teams, you might have second thoughts. I saw both games up close and personal and it was not pretty. Hopefully, an aberation.

What the hell is a "partial" . This ain't soccer, baseball or golf. There is no such thing. Need to brush up on your recruiting knowledge Chief

Sorry Chief...that tells you part of my background...that's why you are here, the compliance officer...

So how many scholarships do we have to offer?

Four.

I havent read anything on the SMU webpage, or the DMN. Nothing about either the men's or women's signees. Odd not to hear anything.

DMN listed signees for pretty much all Texas schools this morning. It showed SMU women signing a player from Kennedale and one from West Mesquite. No Men's signing listed.

Were all four of our commits soft commits waiting until the spring?

Could be a delay on one or more of the signings and we are waiting to announce all of them at the same time. Or maybe there are none!

I think Doherty waited until all 5 came in last November before he announced. The same thing in April or May with Kwiatkowski and Rhodes.

I think you recruiting web trolls would have learned by now if any of our kids had backed out.
