Just Kidding. I do miss the old uniforms alot though. I swear you can't see the pony on Television with the new helmets. I thought I could recycle the uniform debate so everyone can take a break from beating up Bennett. Just remember no one is having a harder time with this season :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: then Coach Bennett.

Bennett designed the uniforms, including the helmets. He gets the blame for that too.

The navy helmets are good they just need to outline the pony in white, get rid of the stripes on the pants and go with solid navy, the navy helmets are the bomb, never go back to the white ,,the navy look much meaner

i'm really beginning to get use to the new unis...even beginning to like them - if we're going to keep them, let's just hope we stick with them - forever...afterall - they do look good...
i just can't handle these style changes for the seasons that these other teams go thru.

I prefer the old uniform, but the new one is sleek/modern which might help attract the young kids we want to impress, but you can not see the Pony logo on the helmet on tv or from the stands.

I am telling you all they need to do is outline the pony in white and it will be clearly visible I do not know why they did not do this in the first place,,the red jerseys would go really good with solid navy pants too,,get rid of the stripes it will be a little of the past with the future 50's

Yep, Bennett is to blame for the NY Giant helmets. You have to remember he's from Marshall, and Y. A. Tittle is from there.

Here's how we solve the contrast problem with the pony on the helmets, and have the NY Giant look alike for the rest of the uniform.

Thats the point. We don't want to look exactly like the Giants. Thats for peewee league, and it might even invite a lawsuit by the Giants for copying their uniform without paying the fees

I like the unis as is, save one thing. Go to the maize pants of the Doak Walker era. I mean, the original "khaki" color, and flat like the Giants pants, not shiny.

I know the Doaker wore a crimson jersey and helmet, but I tend to like the navy, and it would not be as drastic a change.

The red pony on the helmet is fine. The coach and Ed both said they tried it with the white and it did not look right. There is not white trim anywhere else on the entire uniform; why add it in one place.

You guys are seriously [deleted]. The new unis are light years ahead of the old. The helmets are sleek. I like the red jerseys the best, though. I don't care what anyone tells me our colors are SUPPOSED to be.

i agree fwmustang...you're right - i heard the same thing...if u outlined the pony you would have to outline the stripe on the helmet & then it would look too %^$## busy...this way it's consistent with the rest of the uni, symmetrical & it just looks better...

if i had my druthers - i would pick the doaker unis as well...cool, neat, traditional & nothing like it out there...then i'd pick the 60's era uni & then this one we're currently using.

side note - did u know that notre dame didn't start using the navy jerseys until ara parseghean's (sp?) arrival in '60-61 (approx). that's my tidbit for today.
