There's an interesting story on the Home Page about how attendance is up at TCU, UNT and SMU. I can understand TCU (it's easy to jump on the bandwagon when you're winning) and UNT (up and coming program with new facilities on the way), but SMU???
Hey, good for us! I also think it's cool that it seems like most are saying until the bitter end, which I think says a lot for our fans. Hopefully, gone are the days where little cliques are just sitting around in the stands having social hour. But where have all these true blue fans come from??

Re: Football Attendance
Well, lets see: 15,000 of those true blue fans were actually true Orange fans from Okie State. 3-4,000 were Boy scouts who came to camp out in the stadium (Nice promotional idea, by the way. At least it got people inside.) And there were probably a few who came because the last game was Parents weekend. I'll be interested to see if they can come up with a new trick to get people into the stadium for Boise State.Originally posted by PerunaPunch:

As of Monday, only 12,000 tickets had been sold/given away for the Boise St game.

Re: Football Attendance
Well said, PP - major kudos to the marketing department for getting people in the seats so far this year. Of course, it helps when OSU comes to down and brings about 10K, but there weren't that many UTEP-ers in the seats -- those were SMU fans. (Not sure about the "staying to the end" notion .... I saw way too many fans leaving early in both games. Of course, ONE fan leaving early is way too many....)
I don't know what kind of a draw Boise State will be, considering our record. But Rice has a bunch of alums in the area (and Rice is a drivable distance - do they travel well?) Fresno should draw OK. And TCU will bring way too many purple people over from Fort Worthless....

Re: Football Attendance
I will be there to watch my beloved Ponies with my entire clan (a first). Plus a parent so that would be seven. We are looking forward the game. Especially my 6 year old. I am grateful for the Crayola marketing section as this will help entertain my youngest kids. And maybe I will get a chance to see the game and not listen to bored children rustle about.

Rice doesn't travel well. There are only about 2200 students. They have an even smaller alumni base than we do.Originally posted by DallasDiehard:

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
