Can't think of a better solution to this stupid thread based on "Inside Info" from a blog...Sorry Blog...

Ok, I just performed your test.

It appears that the Mustangs next football coach will be:

Vince Lombardi.

The Sample group was very shocked indeed.

There you have it...Vince Lombardi...Now was that as hard as Lombardi's corpse...

Yeah, besides I heard him and Mangino are up for the role of Jabba in Star Wars:The Musical.

FYI, Weis the offensive genius has ND coming in at #119 in the country in total offense. Dead last my friends in Division I. Ouch!

Fran could out-coach Bennett any day of the week. Weiss could out-coach Bennett any day of the week. Both coaches have much tougher schedules than SMU so stats do not mean a damn thing. SMU has had a coach around way too long that has continually under achieved and failed (zero win season / one win this season). Weiss in in position to haul in one of the best recruiting classes in the nation despite ND's struggles this year. ND v. SMU this year? How much money do you have? I will take ND.

Fran would not be a "wow" hire. Fran would be a "why on Earth would SMU hire someone who can't win at a$m?" hire.

I disagree. Here is a HC who has been at Alabama and A&M and he's coming to SMU. It may not be a WOW hire for SMU fans but I think around the country a lot of people would be surprised - myself included. I personally don't think Fran's ego would allow him to lower himself (in his mind) to coach at SMU after being at Bama and A&M. I don't think you want him anyway...I know I wouldn't.

Boy, wish I had ads on the blog.

The number of people searching for "kragthorpe and smu" from Kentucky has gone through the roof. Funny how they didn't seem to know about it until this afternoon.

Hey folks I did a good amount of research over lunch. I have a post listing all of the head coaches at BCS schools.... however I couldn't decide whether to post it. The whole issue of bad news if his name gets out, etc.

However my Wikipedia work provided the following - the only coach at a BCS school other than Guy Morriss to have gone to college in the great state of Texas AND to have coached in the NFL is.....

Steve Kragthorpe

You are correct. However, it still doesn't mean that rumor is true.

It makes ZERO sense. I am a logical person - and there is just no logic in Kragthorpe leaving a BCS school after one season, making more money AND being close friends with the AD there.
