Worst crowd EVER?

Post by smuhype »

Ever wonder what potential recruits must think when they attend one of our games --- ?

You gotta wonder how we even have enough recruits to field a team!

The attendance has been worse. My senior year in high school, I attended the 1977 Rice game in the Cotton Bowl. The attendance with a "liberal" view of the number was around 5-6k. The next year Russ and Brad's Mustang Mania began and we were filling the place up.

I know we gave away a lot of tickets back in 78, but it worked!

I see great things in our future. I have all the faith in the world in Orsini.

That is about the same attendance that we had for the Rice game in 1975 right after Coach Smith got the program placed on probation. It was raining that day, which was another factor in wrecking the attendance for that game.
