What the hell are you trying to prove!?! We know we suck. NO ONE IS SAYING OTHERWISE!! We don't need you shoving polls down our throats to prove nothing.

I don't know about that Peruna...I seem to have read a lot of posts about us beating Texas Tech this year...on our way to our 1st bowl game.
Yep...it's those dang coaches that are at fault..that and the tackling!!!

Is anyone saying we should have beaten Tech now? Of course not. We thought we had the ability to beat Tech in the offseason because we had the offensive firepower last year and no one expected our defense to fall off so much. Pretty sure it wasn't just Ponyfans posters that were picking SMU to do well either.
Regardless of preseason opinions and misconceptions, to post these polls with the expressed purpose of boosting one's ego by "validating oneself" through the results of these polls is outrightly idiotic and nothing less. It is worthless. We know we suck. There is no need to add salt to the wounds.

Oh, but the keeper of the star is really the court jester of this board who loves to keep jabbing everybody in the side with a stick.
He then loves to come after everybody and shout from the rooftops, "I told you so. I told you so. Nanny, nanny.''
And we have people like this practicing law? Nice.

well its better to be able to say I told you so than to have to admit that damn I am an incredible [deleted] again like you. Cavan not the problem, Dement not the problem, BB program will bottom out unless JUCOs are brought in, SMU recruiting mediocre players will lead to mediocre football(name just about any year in the last 10),. Bamba is a long term project. I could go on and on-and that's what kills you. I'll put my record up against any one on this board-and I tell you years before hand and give you the reasons why. Now how can I do that? Its called R-E-C-R-U-I-T-I-N-G.

You show me one person arguing that recruiting is irrelevant and I will show you the village that is missing their idiot. This basketball team needs experience. Football recruiting has left a lot to be desired. You are not introducing novel ideas that the rest of us are incapable of comprehending.
It is incredibly premature to start declaring Doherty a failure. Doherty was able to a get a fairly good class this past year. Whoever is brought for football needs to have name recognition so recruits will want to play for him. Recruits are more inclined to play for someone they've heard of before when records are held constant. A new coach will also have the advantage of saying that he will have things on the up-and-up and that SMU is becoming committed to athletics. So don't say a new coach does nothing, it has a significant effect.

Both recruiting and coaching matter. Let's fix both.

I think that best describes our Program and the Sunshine on this board.

I don't think anyone predicted it to go this horribly awry. I mean wasn't your preseason prediction 6-6 Stallion? (going from memory here) I don't think even PhirePhil had us pegged at 1-11.
