Pressure building for Kragthorpe at Louisville
Speculation on the SMU coaching search has included Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe. (And yes, many, many others as the search enters its fourth week).
The former Tulsa coach is in only his first season with the BCS Big Boys in the Big East. But at 5-6 after a 55-17 blowout loss at South Florida, Cardinals fans are NOT happy.
Take it for what you will - which could be something or nothing - but SMU coach Phil Bennett dropped Kragthorpe's name Saturday during his postgame press conference.
Bennett was asked to recall games that stood out in his tenure.
"One of the wins I thought was really good was the year we went 5-6 and beat UTEP here when they were playing for the championship. Got Kragthorpe and them [Tulsa] in the championship game, and they won it."
