we can only hope Doherty learned from his UNC experience; obviously it's critical that this group improve game after game and if he loses them early, this could really get ugly. Gotta hope we have high quality guys on this team who are up to any challenge the coach can throw their way..and benefit from it.

Doh needs to tread lightly, this is his team, and its performing at this level b/c of the way it was abruptly put together. Them sucking is more Dohs fault than the players right now. This bottoming out was done by design
That's all it is. The team is being stripped down and recreated the way he wants it. We've already seen some evidence - Coach Tubbs didn't think Ofuegbu or Killen could play, and Coach Doherty got them to produce. Those players whose "parents turned on him" also won a national championship for Roy Williams, who proved at Kansas that just because he has a team full of All-America players doesn't mean he can coach worth a crap. Coach Doherty should have gotten a ring for that UNC title.

How about if he shows them how to play defense? The first 3 possesions for Centenary: 2 lay-ups and 1 slam dunk. We finally figured out with 12 minutes to go in the game how to defend that play where their guards kept going left......we should have stopped that early in the first half....I can understand struggling on offense, but I am very surprised at how bad our defense has been.....

I mean, why would no classes have anything to do with practice being brutal? The "no rules" I would think have to be linked to class attendance and to study time.

That AIN'T what it means....
