you have to sell them something and reach out to the locals immediately when you take over and really emphasize local recruiting. It can be done. Dement did it when he came here. He hired Tubbs as an assistant and before long you had guys like Sasser, Davis, and Ross at SMU. Doherty has made no effort to hire an assistant from one of the area high schools. Doherty seems to be a stubborn guy throughout his track record. Hope that works out for him. And us. It will be too late once you establish a losing atmosphere.


oops too late, I think some of it carried over from Ford Stadium. At least we got a nice practice facility for the next coach.
