I would imagine they might look like this only with the navy changed to royal. I still like the idea of the grey cage. obviously w/ CUSA & adidas logos. Love those socks and cleats!

Bring back the candy striper unis!?! Eh. Don't you guys think SMU is white enough as it is!?!

Well, if it's going to happen it's going to happen and although I think our current unis look pretty darn sharp, I really can't argue that neither the red nor the blue have anything to do with our true school colors. I just pray we didn't bring back that white-white-white combo, seriously considered a colored helmet, or at the very least broke up the red-white candy cane motif with a blue or a gray face mask. If we get crappy uniforms and a bleh-coach, I'm taking a timeout from SMU football. I also hope we don't stitch for stitch replicate J.J. Pearce...we already neuter our own mascot...enough is enough.

I will always be partial to the red helmets with white mustangs of the late 60's-early 70's

Whoever posted the uniform with the goofy-look pony on the sleeve reminds me of a Cavan uniform where there were red 'stangs on the side of the pants (at the hip)... one pony was running "backwards" - toward the player's butt. Looked awkward. I like the pony express concept... keep the white helmet, white pants and white shoes - lose the blue jerseys... our RED jersey is a terrific look - Ron Meyer's RED jerseys were a hit and his teams always looked sharp (now those Vegas-style coaching duds were a different story - of course those were the infamous disco days) - maybe blue jerseys for practice, but NEVER for games.

We should have red and blue jerseys depending on our

opponent, red for the frogs and owls and blue for

the cougars and T.T.

I posted a photo of that kind of uniform. I think it would be the best option! Kansas' unis are a derivation of some national championship or conference championship year. The Doaker is THE greatest thing to EVER happen to SMU and it should be his era we look back on. No disrespect to Pony Express, but that comes with too many bad feelings and memories.

Here is that photo again.

Those look great...espcially the red...would love to see that on one of our nationally televised games...if they ever let us back on.

Well, it wouldn't look like anything else out there. And to be able to point back to Doak Walker as the inspiration, would be great.

And bring out the blue for teams that are predominately red or for special occasions. Or the other way around.
