I agree, Rhodes may not be the brightest bulb in the box (that's hearsay but I trust the source lol), but he'll be fine for a game. After Rhodes though, there's no way we should burn a redshirt for the sake of one meaningless game. We've already torched way too many this year. -CoS
If a redshirt is burned on anyone this Saturday, the coach should be fired.
He is fired Mark Rydel. I knew you were joking, but that is the chance you take when you fire a coach and let him finish out the season. When PB was fired he made sure Sam got a full scholarship. Nothing against Sam because he has been a vital part of our kicking game, but is there any other athletes on the team that we should have given a scholarship to. Maybe someone who cannot afford SMU, or an athlete we really need.
Now you have just proved what a blankin' nitwit you truly are. Sam Bennett is not on an athletic scholarship. Never has been and never will be. Same goes for Dement's son who was on the basketball team when Dement was let go. Neither Sam Bennett or Michael Dement counted against any scholarship limit. Free undergraduate tuition is part of the compensation of being an SMU employee.

maybe we should run the wing-t. Might be fun to see opposing defenses try to stop it.

This is not HS football. Learning a college offense is so much different. Please do not push these back-ups into a situation that will be get somebody killed.
Are you saying Rhodes hasn't been practicing the SMU offense? That he's been off in a corner alone studying the wing-t? I'm sure you weren't there, but he was 7-14, 64 yds, 1 TD against UCF. JWill threw for zero TD's.
In a game that was clearly over. UCF was done. They were not blitzing anymore, just playing around with us. Nothing against Zack, but with the coaching staff we have regarding QB's, they have all been standing in a corner. Burns does coach QB's, he coaches an offense. Where do these post come from. Are we that ignorant at SMU about simple football. By the way Zach had a great game! I tell you what smu96, why don't you talk to Zach and some of the other players about who is who and why.

PB is no longer an employee of the school after the end of the season. I thought you would know this. This board is blakin' stupid. Why do think PB stated that Sam would finish his school at SMU? Even though PB could afford it.

I can't believe this got to three pages before someone checked out the DMN to see if Kate had reported. She has.
DMN article
And the verdict is that Willis is expected to play.

It is not like PB is evaluating talent, and we as fans have no clue about what it takes to be productive in college football today. So, just save his body. Just out luck he plays and tears an MCL/ACL and then we are screwed. I think that getting Zack the experience of some D1A snaps outweights the risk of injury (Assuming that there are no lingering problems with his shoulder). -CoS
On the last game of the season, the way our luck has been. I say put him in a straight jacket and tell him not to move. Plenty of time next year to get experience.

If Willis gets hurt, instead of playing the 2nd team QB (as has been the trend in football since its conception) we will instead just let Morstead punt on first down each time we get the ball. He is after all our best player. Is that better bigdaddy? And you thought I did not know anything about football.
You are getting worse. Play Zach and hand the ball off to every running back we have on the roster. They are the ones that need the work, as well as some of the linemen who will be back next season. Play Mapps at QB and go from there. The season is over Mark, let it go. We do not need our skill position players going into the off season having surgeries on knees, shoulders or whatever because a small group of ignorant fans want to see them play in spite of JWill.

That is what the coaches are suppose to tell the media. We may have a trick up our sleve. I will let you know by Friday if JWill will play. Kate is just doing her job, reporting what she is being told.

did Rhodes throw the ball over 10 yards downfield. I remember 1 ten yard pass but most were less than 5 yards down field. One on a 4 yard inside screen that Givens scored on. No Thanks-I watched that crap before. If you want to win play Willis and give Rhodes his clip board back. The Red Blue Game is the only place I want to see an obviously confused QB throw 3 yard passes all afternoon.

Can you read between the lines, or does everything have to be spelled out for your dumb [deleted]. Ok, the way our luck has been this season we will use our backup QB if JWill goes down and he will get banged up. What is the use in doing that. The season is over. Is that better?

Once again PB leaves his endearing mark on this team by not preparing his backup qb to be ready to play. He wanted to play Willis every snap in this one win season -go figure-
