It is true that the defense was the source of our problems at the beginning of the season, but our defense has greatly improved over the last 4-5 games.

Lately Stubbs offense has been stagnant. It's true that the defense lost a lot of players from our Orange Bowl team last year, but the offense remained very much intact. Stubbs managed to score just 17 vs UCONN - last year we laid 48 on them with the same players. Here are some more comparasons Pitt: Last year: 48 - This year: 24. USF: Last year: 31 This year: 17. The general consensus is that ole' Charlie Stubbs is past his prime.

This is the post I was waiting for. Charlie Stubbs is the father of the spread offense. He ws ahead of his time when he was at BYU. They won a national championship while he was there. Maybe he has too much interference from the Brohm brothers. One brother is the assistant head coach/QB coach. The other is DFO. Stubbs is the OC in charge of the wide receivers. In my opinion this is a conflict. Old Charlie is use to having his QB under his wing. Do you need a QB coach, yes. Someone solely to work on mechanics, defensive schemes and so forth. As the assistant head coach?

I'm still here. This is just a good thread and one that makes more sense regarding our coaching possibilities.
