well it's starting to look like Krag is coming

We honestly don't need the guy to turn college football on its head and win National Championships.
We need a guy that can make us a .500 team every year and makes taking the SMU job not a death nail in your coaching coffin. I see this as a progression, we need that guy to take us to .500 so we can entice the big name in a few years to take us bigtime.
We have had one winning season in twenty years...lets get to .500 first.

We did that last year. Bring on winning seasons, conference championships, legitimate bowl games, and top 25 rankings now!

Don't worry about dirty linen--our graduation rate and lack of criminal records are more than enough to offset any of those concerns.

gosh it is certainly starting to look like Kragthorpe
certainly not our first choice, but I suppose a big upgrade from Bennett
][/quote]................SMU's Bennett beat Tulsa's Kragthorpe two out of the last three years their teams played in 2004 and 2006. Kragthorpe is coach at Lousiville this year......Kragthorpe has not done a good job of managing his team at Lousiville this year and alot of Lousiville fans want him out. Kragthorpe has not been as productive in the win/loss colunm since Todd Graham left his staff in 2005. Kragthorpe is a good OC but I think Graham was the stabilizing factor in his past staffs........I know it appears that Kragthorpe will be an excellent hire to some.....but the great coaches, such as Bob Stoops when their is a need to replace assistants that leave, KNOW how to manage by finding an assistant that fits his staff. Kragthorpe is a much bigger question mark than his resume shows.

Excellent post me@smu
yeah we would have all preferred to leap frog this progression step
but it looks like thats not going to happen if we hire Krag
so we will have to accept progress instead of the whole enchilada!

If Kragthorpe is hired here, at the exclusion of seriously considering the Barnetts of the world, then it starts to appear that Turner is part of the football problem at SMU.

i mean really.....once the guy is hired...what good is it
gonna do to be all negative and whiny?
If I searched back far enough, would I find a post where you said the same thing about Bennett? Cavan???

How about we just don't hire him...then we don't have to worry about all the negativity.Insane_Pony_Posse wrote:if it is Krag don't you think we all should nix the

i was never a Cavan fan, ask your alter-ego Stallion about that.
i would have preferred sticking with Rossley instead of hiring Cavan
thanks Jim Copeland!
but actually once a guy is hired whether it's a cavan, bennett, or Krag
should we not give the guy a chance and hope for the best?
heck i dont want krag either
but what can we do?
dont you agree Krag is better than Bennett?
at least the guy has been a head coach!
