Tim Tibesar? but on a more serious not, does SMU's lack of a baseball team hurt the colleges recruiting strength? There are a lot of dual sports athletes in college who excel at football and baseball. I think the introduction of a Baseball team is just what the school neads. get rid of the equestrian team and add baseball and softball.

Equestrian meets Title IX at little cost to the University. Baseball and softball would require about $2 Million a year to be successful programs. And to add baseball guess what you'd have to add another women's sport in addition to softball to comply with Title IX. Perhaps, shooting or bowling (we need some large women with tats at SMU). So, the cost balloons. If you have an extra $30-40 Million in your money market so you can endow these sports, please give Orsini a call. I'd rather add Men's track before baseball when you talk about two sport players. Again, there are tons of threads on this board about baseball. I'd love to see baseball at SMU, but I don't have the $30-40 Million needed to fund it, and when we had it, we really were the worst team in the Country.

Try a Men's Track team... much more synergies there.. see avator of SMU Shot Putter, and Superbowl champion Michael Carter

baseball hurts us not one bit in football. It would be nice to have a team however.
